Kaho Sakaue joins EALC in FL22 to teach Japanese language.

Kaho participated in the ALLEX program (Alliance for Language Learning and Education Exchange), and then taught at the University of Southern Indiana where she received a master’s degree in Second Language Acquisition, Policy, and Culture. Later, she pursued a degree in Japanese pedagogy at Purdue University, broadening her understanding of the field and improving her teaching skills. She also has taught for Middlebury College's summer language program. Kaho has developed her teaching methods through participating in different universities. The goal of her instruction is to broaden students’ perspectives of the world through learning Japanese language and culture.

Kaho’s research and teaching interests include second language acquisition of fluency, pronunciation, and technology in Japanese instruction. She is interested in how technology can facilitate language learning, and how introduction of pronunciation at an earlier stage of learning helps learners’ acquisition of pronunciation.
