Research Interests

Savannah Martin studies the biological manifestations of psychosocial stress and historical trauma in Native American communities. She is working with her own tribe, The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, to learn how stressors related to culture, history, and indigenous identity might help explain disproportionately high rates of obesity and diabetes among Native Americans in the United States.
